When Your Interior Project Needs RAJUK Approval: A Practical Guide

When Your Interior Project Needs RAJUK Approval: A Practical Guide

For most interior fit-out projects in Dhaka, RAJUK (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipath) approval is not required unless the work involves structural changes, new load-bearing walls, or modifications to the building's exterior. However, commercial spaces — especially those receiving public footfall or changing use — often trigger the submission requirement.

What the Submission Involves

  • Architectural drawings at 1:100 or 1:50 scale
  • Structural engineer's sign-off where partitions or ceiling loads affect the floor slab
  • Completed application form with project details and site address
  • Receipt of prescribed fees, which vary by project size and category

Timeline

RAJUK review typically takes 10–15 working days for complete dossiers. We always build this into the project schedule so that no on-site work is delayed waiting on approval.
